she is a poet and author
Her work was first published in the 2000's in women's magazines addressing topics such as homelessness, fertility and music. She debuted her published literary work, Marriage 2001: A Bruised Odyssey (Poems & Writings). Most recently, Young's work was published in Legacy Unbound's inaugural Juneteenth 2024 FLAVA 'Zine digital and print editions. She was very honored. Young was awarded the Regional Book Award in 2026 by the Black Authors Association and Literacy Moments Magazine.
